The app includes several other tools, including a protractor that lets you place your phone flat to measure surface angles, and a laser level tool that lets you place your phone on any object above the floor to view how level the surface is. There’s also an icon in the upper left corner of the screen that acts as a compass and always shows you the orientation of your phone relative to due North. First, measure the height of the wall, then measure the perimeter of the floor. The app will convert those measurements into a full 3D model of the room which you can save as a PDF, JPG, or DXF file. You’ll need to calibrate the height measurement by manually entering the height of the phone above the ground, but once you do, placing the crosshairs on the target returns a fairly accurate measurement of height and distance to target. Simply tap the distance, area, or point of interest mode, then tap the map to measure out distances between taps. It essentially makes the Google Maps distance feature easier to use, with additional measurements possible. The app also lets you take a picture with your camera, then use the app to measure the object in the photo.
